Sustainability
Sustainability
Sustainability is defined as “an avoidance of the depletion of natural resources in order to maintain an ecological balance.” Here at STL Eco Eyecare, sustainability sits at the top of our priority list. Here are the ways we are looking to make a positive impact on the environment and give back to our community while providing you with the best quality eyecare and eyewear:
- In creating our office space, we used as many sustainable materials as possible in creating our work space
- We have designed our own line of biodegradable eyeglass frames, made out of 100% castor oil
- We participate in Bausch and Lomb’s One for One recycling program to recycle the excessive packaging required for your contact lenses
- We are committed to using as little paper as possible in office
- For every non-sustainable purchase, we have committed to making a donation to one of the following organizations:
- Optometry Giving Sight
- St. Louis Society for the Blind
- Gateway Green Education Foundation
- St. Louis Earth Day Foundation
As with any sustainability efforts, working together is key to making strides. If there is anything you feel we can do better, or if there are other ways you would like to recommend that we can give back, please contact us at info@stlecoeyecare.com.
